Fake police officers visit an elderly woman in Stora Mossen and subject her to fraud.

A woman in her 80s in Stora Mossan has received a home visit from two false police officers who left the scene with gold and other valuable items worth tens of thousands of kronor. The visit took place at 5 pm and now her son has become aware of the incident and is alerting the police. A patrol is heading to the woman and conducting an interrogation and filing a report on gross fraud and impersonation of a public official. The scam began with the woman receiving an SMS that appeared to be from a home care company. However, the woman did not recognize the information in the SMS about cleaning and therefore called back on a phone number listed in the SMS. She has since spoken to people who warned her about scams and said that police would come to her home and pick up her gold. Shortly thereafter, she received a visit from the false police officers. Always take care to find out which phone number a company has – never call back on numbers listed in unexpected SMS or emails! Whether it's the police, insurance companies, security companies or other serious actors, they do not make home visits to private individuals to pick up their gold!
