During the afternoon, the police were contacted regarding a man who had been injured and found in a ski slope in Kittelfjäll, Vilhelmina.

The police's on-duty commanding officer made a decision to initiate mountain rescue with the support of the Act on Protection against Accidents, LSO. Mountain rescuers were called to the scene.

The man's life could not be saved. Relatives of the deceased, a man in his 30s, have been informed.

Circumstances suggest that it is a case of a ski accident. At present, there is no suspicion of a crime.
