Scammers' attempts via SMS from "gas stations" target Gotlanders.

Under the evening, the police have received several reports of a completed fraud and several suspected fraud attempts targeting individuals living on Gotland.
I all cases, it involves SMS that appear to come from a gas station. In the SMS, it says that someone has created an account in the recipient's name. When the recipient calls the number listed as contact, the person tries to persuade the recipient to use bank-id and provide bank information.

During phone contact with banks, other financial institutions, and various businesses, it is important to verify the current bank's phone number yourself. A phone number left via SMS is not to be considered secure or serious.
Never give out account information over the phone, and do not log in with bank-id at the request of another person unless you are completely sure who you are talking to.
