Warning for SMS from Klarna.
Many Swedes are currently receiving SMS from people claiming to be from the payment company Klarna.
The message states that the recipient's new payment card is ready, and the scam is carried out when the victim calls the sender.
Over the past day, the police have received several reports of scams using this method.
At least two elderly women in Gästrikland and Västmanland have lost larger sums of money during the week in connection with the scams.
The police want to remind the public never to identify themselves with a bank ID and never to give out codes from a bank card or payment card if someone unknown asks for it.
Serious companies, organizations, and authorities never contact you and ask you to log in or provide personal information in this way.
More information about the scams can be read about on Klarna's website.
