August 21, 07.49, Summary of the night, Västerbotten County

Here follow a selection of the night's events:

23.48 Wild animal accident, Storuman:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a car and an elk on E45, south of Gunnarberg. No personal injuries are reported. It is unclear how the elk fared and a tracker is called out.

01.45 Drunk driving, Umeå:
At a stop and check of a car in central Umeå, the driver, a woman, blows positively in the police's breathalyzer and is taken in for blood sampling. A report of drunk driving is drawn up.

06.25 Wild animal accident, Skellefteå:
Police receive a report of an accident involving a car and a deer on county road 814, east of Klutmark. No personal injuries are reported. The deer died in connection with the accident and a tracker is called out to deal with it.

Other:
Police have handled a case in Umeå municipality during the night where a man in his 60s has been arrested and later detained suspected of a crime against a woman he has a relationship with. Police are working with initial investigative measures such as tracking and interrogation.

One person has been taken into custody for drunk driving and one person has been taken in for blood sampling following suspicion of narcotics crime.

Police have also conducted checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of a crime.
