Reports have been received that an elderly woman has been called by a person claiming to be from a home electronics company. The contact was said to be due to an order of a new phone. The person is then said to have connected the woman to someone who claimed to be from a bank. Over the phone, the woman was persuaded to put a bank card in an envelope outside the door, after which an unknown person has picked up the card.

The police have held interrogations and a report on fraud is to be drawn up.

So you protect yourself against telephone fraud:

1.       Put the receiver down

2.       Do not log in with your bank ID, do not give out any codes

3.       Do not trust the person who is calling, even if they seem credible or if they stress you in any way
