A man calls a woman in Märsta and states that he is a police officer and that he is going to pick up her valuables.
The man also asks questions about bank-id, but the woman is frugal with information, which makes the perpetrator fail in the crime.
The woman calls the police, who go to the woman's residence, after a conversation with the victim, a report is established.
About an hour later, a similar attempt at fraud occurs, also in Märsta. Crime classification: attempt at fraud and pretence of public position.
**So you protect yourself against telephone fraud
**1. Hang up the phone. If you are called by an unknown person and you feel uncertain, you should end the call.
2. Do not log in. Do not identify yourself with bank-id and do not give out codes to your bank card or to your credit card.
3. Do not trust the person who calls you – even if they seem credible and have personal information about you.
