Reports have come in about a serious violent crime in the northern parts of Söderhamn. The police were dispatched to the scene and a person was taken to the hospital. At the scene, a person involved in the case was apprehended.

The police have knocked on doors and heard witnesses to the event after the incident. An area has been cordoned off pending technical examination.

The person found injured at the address was a 45-year-old man, who was later found deceased at the hospital. Relatives of the man have been notified.

At the address, a 50-year-old woman was also found with non-life-threatening injuries. The injuries are believed to have been inflicted by the man apprehended at the scene.

The police classify the events as murder and assault. The suspect is a 55-year-old man.
