Police were called to the Bjerehov area in Bjärred after a report of a potentially dangerous object. The police have cordoned off a larger area with its center in the southern part of the Bjerehov area, which faces Västanvägen. The public residing in Bjerehov and adjacent streets is advised to stay indoors and respect the police cordon.

The National Bomb Group of the Police is on its way to the scene to assess and handle the object.

A VMA (Important Public Notice) has been issued.

Update 18:10 The object is believed to be a suspected hand grenade from a distance.
