Fraudsters lure an elderly woman into handing over jewelry.
A scammer poses as a police officer and calls a 90-year-old woman in Orminge. The scammer claims that the woman is at risk of being burgled and that another police officer will therefore come by and collect valuable items so that they can be protected from thieves.
When the elderly woman receives a visit around 6:30 pm from an unknown woman, she therefore hands over jewelry and other valuable items to her.
Later, the elderly woman realizes that she has been scammed and calls 112. The police conduct an interview and then write a report on gross fraud.
Police never go to individual persons and collect valuable items to protect them from theft!
