
120 Sub-issues so far in April.
During the first two weeks of April, the police headquarters in Region South has handled 120 SUB-matters that led to a complaint. Almost every fourth case ended in an arrest.
SUB-matters, crimes against specially vulnerable victims, include, among other things, crimes in a relationship, rape, crimes against children and relatives, and honour-related crime. The cases so far in April have ranged from harassment to severe assault. A total of 33 suspects have been arrested.
Here is a selection of cases that led to a complaint and arrest:
Ängelholm: A child reports to the police that their mother is being assaulted. It is revealed that this is not the first time the children have witnessed violence. The man is arrested. An investigation into assault, rape, child welfare offences and unlawful coercion is ongoing.
Sölvesborg: A woman calls the police and reports that her husband has hit her. The husband is arrested. An investigation into assault is ongoing.
Älmhult: A woman is alleged to have been assaulted by kicks and strangulation. The man is arrested, suspected of two cases of assault and child welfare offences.
Malmö: Police are sent to a residence in Malmö where a man is suspected of assaulting and threatening his partner. The woman is taken to hospital. The man is arrested, suspected of severe violation of a woman's rights. He is now remanded in custody.
Perstorp: A man is arrested on suspicion of crimes against parents and siblings. The suspicion involves three cases of assault, vandalism and severe unlawful threats. An investigation is ongoing.
