Starting today, the police are conducting a national traffic week aimed at detecting criminal activity on the roads, but the police work extensively with this type of crime throughout the rest of the year as well.

Below is a selection from today’s traffic checks in Västernorrland:

Örnsköldsvik Municipality

During a check in Örnsköldsvik, a driver tests positive in an initial test, but a further test puts the result below the punishable limit. No further action is taken.

A sobriety check was carried out on the E4 at Åte. A total of around 50 drivers were checked, and there were no remarks in any of the cases.

Sundsvall Municipality

During a check in Södermalm in Sundsvall, a fixed penalty notice was issued to a driver who had not stopped properly at a stop sign.

Sollefteå Municipality

Everyone who passed through the sobriety checks on County Road 975 and County Road 906 at Näsåker was without remarks.

Härnösand Municipality

Everyone who passed through the sobriety check in central Härnösand was without remarks. There were 23 drivers in total.
