Under the afternoon today, Wednesday, the local police district's intervention activities will practice with vehicles in an outdoor environment in Linköping. The exercise is a part of the police's competence development and will be carried out with painted police cars that may need to drive through and outside the urban environment.

The police cars will move both with and without blue lights on. They can also move on, for example, bicycles and sidewalks when necessary.

It is important to know that this is exclusively an exercise and there is no danger to the public.

The exercise will take place throughout Linköping and its surroundings, and this time will be mostly car-based. There will therefore be a larger than usual gathering of police vehicles.

There will be both uniformed and civilian police personnel on site. The civilian personnel will have clear marking that they are police personnel.

The exercise will take place over several weeks and will be held just during the afternoons on Wednesdays. The character of the exercise sessions will change from week to week.

There is no reason for the public to be alarmed. It is not an ongoing event, but exclusively an exercise aimed at developing the competence of the personnel.

The police will not invite spectators to the exercises and we ask to be able to exercise without disturbance. This so that it can be as authentic as possible.
