Police and ambulance are alerted to National Highway 37, just east of Bockara, due to a car colliding with an elk.

The collision is said to have occurred in an eastbound direction and the elk has run away from the scene.

Police patrol is heading to the scene and a tracker is called in.

08:24 Police are on the scene and waiting for a wrecker.

The elk has been found in a ditch.

There is no suspicion of a crime.
