26 June 08.03, Summary of the night, Norrbotten County

Here follow a selection of events from last night:

23.39 Traffic accident, Luleå:
There is a report of a traffic accident on E4, Rutvik, where a car collided with the median. The driver is being taken to medical care by ambulance. The accident will be investigated.

23.49 Wildlife accident, Arvidsjaur:
Police receive a report of an accident between a car and a reindeer on E45 near Fiskträsk. No personal injuries are reported. It is unclear what happened to the reindeer. The affected Sami community is informed about the accident.

23.54 Wildlife accident, Kalix:
Police receive a report of an accident between a truck and a deer on E4, Månsbyn. No personal injuries are reported. The deer died in connection with the accident and a hunter is called out to take care of it.

01.29 Fire, Luleå:
There is a report of a fire in a carport, Rutvik. Also, a parked car is said to have burned. A police patrol is ordered to the scene. There are no reports of anyone being injured in connection with the fire. The carport is allowed to burn down. The cause of the fire is unclear and will be investigated.

03.12 Assault, Kiruna:
A police patrol in central Kiruna notices a brawl/fight. A man is said to have assaulted another man. The injured man is taken to medical care by ambulance. A report of assault is filed. Interviews have been held with witnesses and further interviews will be held in the case.

Other:

Police have handled a case in Piteå municipality during the night where a man outdoors is suspected of assaulting a woman he is in a relationship with. It is unclear if the woman needed medical care. After an interview, the prosecutor has decided that the man, who is in his mid-30s, should be arrested. A report of assault is filed.

Three people have been taken into custody for intoxication and one person has been taken in for a blood test due to suspicion of narcotics offense.

Police have also performed several checks of people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of a crime.
