
Below are some of the events that Värmland police had to handle during the night leading up to Sunday.
Säffle 05:24 Drunken Driving. A police patrol stopped and checked a private car and found that the man driving the car was severely intoxicated. The driver, in his 20s, was taken in for a blood test, which showed that he had a blood alcohol concentration of at least 1.54 per mille during driving. He was very aggressive at the time of the intervention and made significant resistance, which means that he is now suspected of both gross drunken driving and violent resistance. After the blood test, he was kept in custody for sobering up.
Hammarö 02:25 Unlawful Driving. During a stop and check of a private car, it was found that the man in his 20s who drove the car lacked the necessary license for this. He is now suspected of unlawful driving and the woman car owner who was a passenger is now suspected of allowing unlawful driving.
Kristinehamn 01:30 Assault and Vandalism. A car owner called the police after a man in his 18s smashed a window on his car and then bitten the car owner's hand. The police have been on the scene and held interrogations and drawn up a report on assault and vandalism. There were witnesses on the scene.
Karlstad 01:20 Drunkenness and Narcotics Offense. A police patrol apprehended a drunk man in his 20s in central Karlstad and found a small amount of suspected narcotics on the man during the protective inspection. He was apprehended under the law on apprehension of intoxicated persons (LOB). In addition to being allowed to sleep off the drunkenness in a cell, the man is now also suspected of minor narcotics offenses regarding both possession and personal use.
