The police have had to handle several cases of fights and assault in connection with the ongoing city festival.

The intoxication rate was high and a large number of people were gathered in the central city districts during Friday evening and night.

The police are called to Stationsgatan where a fight is said to be taking place. A man in his 50s is said to have received several blows from someone. The patrol sets up a report of assault with an unknown perpetrator. Several intoxicated men are also turned away from the scene.

A patrol stops outside a restaurant where a fight is taking place. A drunk man in his 50s is accused of hitting a glass on the head of an employee at the bar. The suspect is detained under the Law on the Detention of Intoxicated Persons (LOB), in addition to being suspected of assault. He is also suspected of violent resistance and threats against a public official. The victim in the assault case is a boy in his upper teenage years.

Phone calls come in that a group of 20 young people are fighting outside a restaurant in the Västanfors district and not in connection with the festival area.

When the police are on their way to the scene, the fighting people run away from the scene. After talking to people at the scene, three male victims in their 20s are identified.

A report is also made against a 20-year-old man who is suspected of assault.

No one is said to have been seriously injured in any of the above incidents.
