Over the past few days, several calls have been received by the police regarding seaweed sellers in Jämtland, Västernorrland and Västerbotten. The police have assessed that it is a form of fraud. It is currently unclear exactly how many people have been contacted by these seaweed sellers. People who have been contacted and possibly let seaweed sellers into their home are urged to make a report via 114 14 or via polisen.se. 

During the afternoon, additional calls were received about seaweed sellers, this time in Arjeplog. At 5 pm, a car was checked and two people were subsequently arrested. Interrogations will be held and then the prosecutor will decide whether they should be detained or not.

The police have also made some seizures. The case is initially classified as attempted fraud.

Details about the arrested individuals will not be provided at this early stage as it could affect any witness statements.
