At 6 pm, the police were alerted to a villa in Vaggeryd where a 45-year-old man is alleged to have been assaulted with a blunt instrument.

The assault is said to have taken place outside the residence and the perpetrator is alleged to be a 35-year-old man who left the scene in a car. 

The police found the perpetrator in the vicinity and he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault. 

The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance but is awake and able to speak.
