Yesterday, the police drew attention to two incidents in the county that were similar to each other. It's about older people who discovered that they had received unexpected visits at home from completely unknown individuals - who just went in to steal things from the apartments.

At one of the cases, which took place in Värnamo, a woman who was affected lost her jewelry. At the other, which took place in Forsheda, the thieves left without stolen goods. There, they were caught red-handed while rummaging through a jewelry box. 

The police have no suspects, but want to inform the public about this and appeal for caution. 

We want to emphasize the importance of having outer doors locked, even when you are at home.

Don't let in any unknown or uninvited individuals at home. This applies to both private individuals and those who claim to be officials. If you are not expecting the visit, or for any other reason feel that it feels strange that they come to your home - ignore opening the door.
