Protect yourself from break-ins – make it harder for the thief
During the summer, break-ins increase. This trend is seen by the police every year. Break-ins occur both during times when people are away, such as during long holidays, but can also occur during the day when people are at home.
Once inside, thieves are quick to search the home for stolen goods. Often, they are looking for valuable items that are easy to carry and sell, such as jewelry, watches, and cash. Therefore, store these items in hard-to-reach places.
Burglary cases can be difficult to investigate if the thieves do not leave any clues. For those affected, it is important to think about leaving the crime scene as undisturbed as possible to avoid destroying any potential clues that can be secured during a crime scene investigation. Think about the fact that clues can also be secured outside the property in the form of cigarette butts, trash, or saliva, for example.

Make it harder for thieves to get into the house: Have lights that turn on when it's dark outside. If you have an alarm – it's a good idea to have one that sounds, as it can deter thieves. Be careful to lock the door. Do not have stairs or break-in tools near the house.
Be aware of unknown cars and people in the area. Cars that drive slowly past or are parked for short periods, please note the license plate number. Tip the police on 114 14 and call 112 in the event of an ongoing break-in.
