Summary of the police's work in connection with the Playa festival in Sundsvall:
It has been an intense start to the festival and many young people who in several cases have had a bit too much to drink. A dozen have been taken from the area with the support of the LOB, the law on the taking into custody of intoxicated persons, where most were under 18 years old. A few cases of minor narcotics offenses and an assault have also been handled by the police. A number of people have been turned away with the support of Police Act 13§, where the majority were under 18 years old. The evening itself has been experienced as a relatively calm and pleasant occasion where the level of intoxication has decreased over time and the organizer has ensured that there has been access to water.
The police would like to thank for good and good cooperation with the organizer, orderlies, field staff, the police's volunteers and adults in town and so on. A call for the weekend's festival evening is that guardians are kindly asked to have a dialogue with their young people about how they should get home during the evening and night.
