Five people have been taken into custody for drunkenness and one person has been taken in for testing after suspicion of narcotics crime.

The police have also carried out a number of checks on people and vehicles that have not resulted in any suspicion of crime.

Here follows a selection of the night's events:

22:10 Drunken driving, Umeå
A driver is checked in the west part of town in Umeå. Suspicion arises that the driver, a man in his mid-20s, is under the influence of narcotics. A blood test is performed, the driver's license is confiscated. A report is filed regarding suspected drunken driving and minor narcotics crime, personal use.

23:12 Traffic accident, Umeå
An alarm is received about a single-car accident on regional road 507/Stickvägen on Kronoparken in Umeå. A car is said to have driven off the road. The driver has a neck injury and is taken to medical care by ambulance. A report is to be filed about a traffic accident without suspicion of a crime.

A wild animal accident has been reported to the police during the night. There are no reports of personal injuries.
