Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is seeking an experienced Embedded Programmer specialising in Java for a technically advanced consultancy assignment in the defence and security industry.
Do you have at least 7 years’ experience with Java and an interest in embedded systems, test automation and FPGA technology? Would you like to develop tools that ensure the quality of advanced technical designs? Then this assignment could be right for you!
🔧 About the assignment
You will join an embedded programming team working with FPGAs with embedded processors. The team is developing a new test solution in Java to verify FPGA designs and integrate testing into a CI/CD pipeline.
The role combines Java development, test automation, data analysis, integration and troubleshooting in a technically advanced laboratory environment.
🎯 Main responsibilities
Develop and further develop a test solution in Java for FPGA designs.
Implement analysis functions for collected data.
Develop functionality to emulate a radar control unit.
Carry out testing and integration in a laboratory environment.
Troubleshoot, maintain and improve both new and existing functions.
Develop and maintain automated tests using JUnit.
Contribute to integrating the test solution into CI/CD workflows.
Work with colleagues in an agile development team to ensure quality and reliability.

✅ Mandatory requirements
At least 7 years’ practical experience in Java development.
Good knowledge of JUnit and experience in software testing.
Ability to analyse technical problems and troubleshoot complex functionality.
An interest in embedded programming, test automation and integration.
Willingness and ability to work in agile teams.

⭐ Desirable skills
C and C++.
MATLAB and Python.
Experience with FPGAs, embedded processors or other embedded systems.
Experience with CI/CD and automated test pipelines.
Experience with laboratory testing and hardware and software integration.
