It was fourth time lucky for German Alexander Zverev, who, after three final losses, has now won his first Grand Slam title.

In the final of the French Open, he beat Flavio Cobolli 3–2 (6–1, 4–6, 6–4, 5–7, 6–1).

When Cobolli hit the last ball, the German sank to the clay and started crying.

"I've had some of my best and some of my worst moments here. Four years ago I was lying here with two fractures and two years ago I lost a final. But finally there was a happy ending," he said in the victory interview.

In addition to the title, Zverev receives 30 million kronor for the victory.
