Zverev Aims to Disrupt Dominance at US Open

Alexander Zverev is advancing in the US Open after 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 against Jacob Fearnley. The three-time Grand Slam runner-up looks however further ahead than to the third round. I am here to ruin the party.

Alexander Zverev has had a few setbacks so far in his career. The 28-year-old has made it to the final in three of four Grand Slam tournaments, but never won.

In his two most recent final losses (this year's Australian Open and the French Championships last year) the German has fallen to the giants of recent years, world number one Jannik Sinner and world number two Carlos Alcaraz. They have together won the last seven Grand Slam tournaments.

But when he defeated Jacob Fearnley, ranked 60, in the US Open's second round, Zverev made it clear that he intends to break the duo's dominance.

I'm here to ruin the party. I'm going to try to do it.
