German Alexander Zverev is through to the semifinals of the French Open – his fourth in a row – after beating Alex de Minaur from Australia in straight sets, 6–4, 7–6 (7–6), 6–4.
Despite the numbers, it was a bit of a sweaty battle for Zverev. When the second set went to a tiebreak, the German found himself on the back foot and was down 0–4 before coming back. In the third set, he then clung to his shirt and failed to serve out the match at 5–4. But in the next game, it was de Minaur's turn to falter and Zverev could break and win.
In the semifinals, Norwegian Casper Ruud is waiting, who went through without playing his quarterfinal after Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw due to injury.
