The world's 500 richest people saw their combined wealth plummet by 208 billion dollars on Thursday, according to Bloomberg's billionaire index.
Donald Trump's tariff policy created great unease on the world's stock exchanges.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was the biggest loser, according to the index. His shares in Meta, which owns, among other things, Facebook and Instagram, became 17.9 billion dollars less valuable, equivalent to 177 billion kronor.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' wealth decreased simultaneously by 15.9 billion dollars and Tesla founder Elon Musk's by 11 billion dollars.
As a result, Elon Musk has so far this year become 110 billion dollars poorer.
