Appearing before a jury in Los Angeles, Zuckerberg was asked to address internal complaints that said Meta had not done enough to prevent people under the age of 13 from using the platform.
Zuckerberg says improvements have been made, but admits:
I wish we had done it earlier.
In the ongoing legal proceedings, a 20-year-old woman is cited as an example of suffering caused by addictive social media.
According to the allegations, Meta and Alphabet, Google's parent company, have built services aimed at keeping children engaged, using personalized algorithms and a near-constant stream of attention-grabbing content.
