New masks, new panel members but old rivalries – the fifth season of "Masked Singer" is approaching. Pernilla Wahlgren is still my arch-nemesis, says Måns Zelmerlöw.

The presentation of the season's new masks begins with the panel entering the stage together, while Måns Zelmerlöw glides in afterwards.

A nod to the weekend's event, when he failed to appear on "Nyhetsmorgon" to talk about his final place in Melodifestivalen. Something he explains with a miscommunication.

I simply didn't know I was supposed to be there, he says.

He is present at the presentation of the masks, as is the rest of the panel, consisting of veteran Pernilla Wahlgren and the two debutants Carina Berg and Behrouz Badreh.

We have big shoes to fill after Felix Herngren and Nour El Refai, but it's incredibly fun. If I can't contribute with sharp guesses, I hope to offer many laughs instead, says Carina Berg.

It's the guesses she sees as the biggest challenge.

You get so caught up in the clues that it can be overwhelming. Especially when everyone is so competitive, she says, nodding towards panel colleague Måns Zelmerlöw.

A True Winner's Mindset

Zelmerlöw, who is a panel member for the fifth year in a row, admits that he has a winner's mindset.

The fact that it's a competition within the competition is the best thing about "Masked Singer", it adds so much for both us and the audience, he says.

He believes that the change in the panel can bring new energy to the program, but some things remain from previous seasons.

It's still Pernilla Wahlgren who is my nemesis in the panel, he says.

Among this year's masks are, among others, the Maypole, the Bird's Nest, and the Forest Giant. The latter is particularly notable, if you ask Måns Zelmerlöw.

The Forest Giant is one of the most beautiful masks we've had, even though all of them are impressive, he says.

Sweden Stands Out

He means that the high level of the masks stands out in the Swedish version of the program.

You can see that the quality has decreased season by season in other countries. But it doesn't feel that way here.

Carina Berg agrees.

This season feels like a very colorful rollercoaster.

The Bird's Nest

The Racing Fox

The Porcelain Doll

The Maypole

The Bacterium

The Forest Giant

The Chess Queen

The Octopus

The Detective Owl

The Stage Walker

The Sushi

The Lamp
