The news agency's correspondent heard a detonation and then saw a cloud of smoke and flames in the capital. Rescue services and ambulances quickly arrived at the scene, AFP writes.
Zelenskyy said during a press conference on Wednesday that he was forced to cancel a visit to Dublin to travel home - after intelligence reports that Russia was preparing a massive attack on Ukraine.
"I urge our people to be especially careful, to protect themselves, their children and, of course, their families, to seek shelter and follow the air raid alerts in Ukraine - this is very important," he said during the press conference.
