In a post on X, Zelenskyy writes that the US's pending sanctions against Russia are needed immediately.
The proposal for a new US sanctions package against Russia was given the green light in the US Senate in August but still requires approval from the House of Representatives.
Opinions in Congress about the package are divided. Those who back it say that US President Trump will be given sharper tools to pressure Russian President Putin. The other camp is critical of Trump's broad power over tariffs in general, not just against Russia, Politico writes.
"To be honest, sometimes I don't understand why decisions can't be made faster," Zelenskyy writes.
