The peace talks in Miami over the past few days have been “very constructive,” according to Volodymyr Zelensky. However, no major breakthroughs have been reported.

The Ukrainian president writes on social media that he spoke with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during the negotiations in Florida on Saturday.

The conversation, which was also attended by parts of the Ukrainian delegation in the United States, was fruitful, writes Zelensky.

"Ukraine is firmly determined to continue working in good faith with the American side to truly achieve peace," he writes.

“(We) discussed the key issues that can guarantee an end to the bloodbath and erase the threat of a third Russian invasion,” Zelenskyy continues, referring to the Russian attacks on the country in 2014 and 2022.

Zelensky will now await a meeting with his own negotiators to receive a detailed report on the talks, before he travels to London on Monday for a meeting with the leaders of Britain, France and Germany.

There, the President of Ukraine and the trio of Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Friedrich Merz will discuss the US-led negotiations.

"We must continue to put pressure on Russia so that they are forced to agree to peace," Zelenskyy wrote on social media.

Macron confirms the meeting at X:

"Ukraine can count on our unwavering support. That's the whole point of the 'coalition of the willing,'" he writes, referring to the 30 or so countries that are cooperating on support for Ukraine.
