This is evident in a video Zelenskyy shared on X from a digital meeting with representatives of both parties in the US Congress.
"It's good that we are constantly in touch, and we hope to meet with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, perhaps in Norway, in the coming days. There is a lot to discuss about the diplomatic process," Zelenskyy says in the clip.
This follows a situation report in which Zelenskyy says that a "political decision" appears to have been made to slow down support for Ukraine, including by restricting the satellite network Ukraine uses in its defense against Russia: Starlink and its military equivalent, Starshield.
"I discussed this with President Donald Trump's representatives on Sunday," he says.
Witkoff and Kushner plan to travel to Norway this week, Reuters reports, citing three sources with knowledge of the matter.
The American duo met earlier this year with both Zelenskyy in Kyiv and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
The rift between Trump and Zelenskyy has widened recently, not least because the US, under pressure from high fuel prices, reached a deal with Russia on diesel deliveries and stopped the introduction of sanctions on Russian fuel exports.
Ahead of a press briefing on Monday evening, local time in Sweden, Trump suggested that a meeting about the war could be held without Zelenskyy present.
"I honestly think it's time for someone else to negotiate for Ukraine," Trump said at the time, according to NBC News.
