Ukraine has attacked two Russian oil refineries, one in Bashkiria, 1,300 kilometres from the front line, and the other in the Yaroslavl region, nearly 700 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X.
"Our responses to the Russian aggression in the Black Sea were also successful. Among other things, two military patrol boats and ships belonging to the shadow fleet were hit," he wrote further.
The oil facilities are being used by Russia to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians, Zelenskyy points out.
The Defence Ministry in Moscow has issued a separate report. It claims to have shot down hundreds of drones, and in Yaroslavl, it says wreckage sparked fires in residential buildings and cars, among other things.
