The trilateral talks on the war in Ukraine, which, according to some reports, were supposed to begin on Sunday, will not start until Wednesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“The dates for the next trilateral meeting have been set: February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. Ukraine is ready for concrete talks,” Zelenskyy writes on Telegram.

“We are interested in an outcome that brings us closer to a real and dignified end to the war.”

Details of the meeting follow talks between Russian and American envoys over the weekend in Miami.

During the fall and winter, reports said the United States was close to mediating a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, it was emphasized that only one point remained. However, it is believed to be the difficult “territorial issue” where Russia has demanded control of the entire Donbas region in eastern Ukraine - and the US has conditioned support and security guarantees for Ukraine on Kyiv agreeing to this.
