So far, the US-led negotiations between Ukraine and Russia have not led to a peace agreement.
"We are ready for proper compromises. But not compromises that sacrifice our independence and sovereignty," Zelenskyy said, the Kyiv Independent reports.
On X, he wrote that it is important for Europe's role in the peace process to grow and that he wants to coordinate how with European friends.
At the same time, the defense ministers of Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland said in a statement that any peace agreement must contain "substantial" security guarantees for Ukraine, AFP writes.
