"As we promised, it will be repaired by the end of April - not completely, but enough to function," Zelenskyy said during his ongoing visit to Berlin, according to the AFP news agency.

The damaged Druzhba pipeline has been used by Hungary's outgoing Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, as a reason to temporarily block the EU's billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Prime Minister-elect Péter Magyar has spoken by phone with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, including about the release of EU grants that have been withheld over concerns about corruption.

“There is urgent work to do to restore, reconnect and reform,” von der Leyen wrote afterwards on X.
