Zelenskyj's visit to London was not announced, and the visit was carried out ahead of Zelenskyj's planned presence at the military alliance NATO's summit in The Hague in the Netherlands.
After talks with Prime Minister Starmer at 10 Downing Street, Zelenskyj said that British support – not least the training of Ukrainian soldiers – has "strengthened our army". About 50,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been further trained in an international cooperation.
Starmer, who stood beside, replied that Zelenskyj "is starting to become a regular guest on Downing Street" and then said that the two had had a good meeting that led to an agreement on "military-industrial cooperation".
The meeting in the Prime Minister's residential office in central London followed a visit to King Charles at Windsor Castle.
Zelenskyj "visited the King during the afternoon and stayed for lunch", wrote Buckingham Palace in a statement after the meeting, without going into detail about the content of the conversation between the two.
