President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is to meet a small group of countries on Friday for talks about possible forces in Ukraine, in case a ceasefire comes into effect.
Zelenskyj said this at a press conference he held together with Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
Zelenskyj said he wants "more concrete" answers to Kyiv's request from the countries that have expressed a desire to participate, reports Reuters.
Russia opposes the proposal.
Ukraine's president also demanded that the American sanctions against Russia be tightened. The argument was that Moscow "has broken" the agreements reached in talks in Saudi Arabia, where the USA acted as mediator and guarantor.
I believe that we have reached the point where the effect of the sanctions must be strengthened, since Russia has broken what they promised America – at least according to what America has told us and the public (about the agreements), said Zelenskyj.
