Norway promises 1.5 billion Norwegian kronor in support to secure power and heat in Ukraine, reports NTB. During a lightning visit to Oslo, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj expressed support for Donald Trump's "compromise" ahead of peace talks with Russia.

During the morning, Zelenskyj met Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at Gardermoen airport near Oslo, to shortly thereafter travel on to Sweden. In connection with the Oslo visit, a Norwegian promise was made to, together with the EU, contribute an additional 1.5 billion Norwegian kronor to Ukraine ahead of the winter.

During the lightning visit, which lasted just under an hour, Zelenskyj gave his support to the US President Donald Trump's proposal to use today's contact line as a starting point for peace negotiations with Russia.

Trump proposed "Stay where we are and start the conversation", said Zelenskyj to reporters.

I think it was a good compromise, but I'm not sure that Putin will support it and that's what I've told the president.

On Sunday, Trump said that the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine should be divided between Russia and Ukraine along the current front line. After that, the countries should negotiate a final peace solution, according to Trump.
