Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyj urges the country's allies to review their import of Russian oil – and impose more sanctions on Russia.

"I urge all our partners to stop looking for excuses for not imposing sanctions – Europe, USA, G7, G20", the president writes on X. He emphasizes that curtailed import of Russian oil reduces Russia's combat capability.

US President Donald Trump promised on Saturday "significant sanctions" against Russia if NATO countries stop buying Russian oil and impose the same sanctions.

"We hear the US stance, and that stance should be listened to by all who still choose deliveries from Russia over other partners", Zelenskyj writes.

The Western world's imports from Russia have decreased sharply since the country's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, but they have not completely ceased.
