It was on Sunday that US President Donald Trump claimed Russia and Ukraine had agreed to a partial ceasefire, with both sides agreeing not to attack energy facilities.
"The moratorium (on attacks) is over. We are done," he told the newspaper, referring to the commitment not to attack energy targets.
Russia has continued to attack Ukraine with undiminished force, and Ukraine has said it will participate in the initiative only if Moscow does so as well.
Trump's statement about a ceasefire came just a day after he announced a deal with Russia on importing Russian diesel into the United States.
Zelenskyy says he believes that a ceasefire observed only by Ukraine risks encouraging the US and Russia to reach further agreements that are economically beneficial to both countries.
The question is, when will the next agreement come? Then it might be about gas, Zelenskyy told the Financial Times.
In the interview with the newspaper, Zelenskyy described the US's restriction of intelligence sharing with Ukraine as a fact and called it a "dangerous" development.
"What matters is that Putin doesn't feel any pressure. When he doesn't feel pressure, he attacks," Zelenskyy told the newspaper.
Over the past weekend, Trump also said he believed Zelenskyy should be replaced as president of Ukraine.
