Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he has held talks with US Senator Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff ahead of next week's negotiations.

"We expect the meetings to be truly productive," Zelenskyy writes ahead of the planned trilateral talks with the US and Russia to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Zelenskyy also had telephone contact with US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who is also participating in the peace talks.

The Ukrainian president met with US Senator Marco Rubio during the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Zelenskyy wrote on X that he had informed Rubio, among other things, about how Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities are affecting the population and the situation on the front line.
