Sybiha and his American counterpart Marco Rubio have spoken on the phone. They discussed the upcoming meeting between the countries' delegations in Saudi Arabia next week.

"Ukraine wants the war to end, and US leadership is necessary to achieve a sustainable peace", writes Sybiha on X.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj also comments on the meeting in Saudi Arabia, in his evening speech.

Next week, hard work will be done here in Europe, with the USA, in Saudi Arabia – we are preparing a meeting to accelerate peace and strengthen the foundations of security, he says.

He adds that they have had intensive contact with officials from the USA during the day, and that they will continue to "work on the relevant steps with our partners who want peace".

Ukraine is ready for peace as soon as possible – we have proposed concrete steps.

The US Secretary of State Rubio and Mike Waltz, security adviser to President Donald Trump, will participate in the meeting in Saudi Arabia, confirms Waltz according to several media outlets.
