According to Prime Minister Micheál Martin, talks are pending about "increasing pressure on Russia," reports the Irish Times newspaper, among others.
"We will also discuss how we can ensure that the EU plays a full role in guaranteeing a just and lasting peace for the people of Ukraine and how we can advance negotiations on Ukraine's future membership of the EU," Martin said in a statement.
EU Council President António Costa is also present at the meeting in Dublin today.
