Thousands of Ukrainian families are without power after Russian strikes on Saturday night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. Russia said it used hypersonic missiles in the “massive” attack.

Last night's Russian attacks were aimed at the country's energy sector, President Zelenskyy said.

"In total, the enemy used over 450 attack drones and 30 robots of various types," he writes on X.

The Defense Ministry in Moscow stated, according to AFP, that hypersonic Kinzhal missiles were used in the attacks, which were described as "massive" and a revenge for "Ukraine's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia."

At least two civilians were injured in Odessa. Attacks are also reported from the Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions, among others.

"It is important for everyone to see what Russia is doing now – every step they take in terrorizing our people, all their attacks, because this is clearly not about ending the war," Zelenskyy wrote.

In Russia, at least two civilians have been reported killed in a Ukrainian drone strike on Saratov, which is located about 800 kilometers northeast of the front line in Ukraine. According to local authorities, several apartments in an apartment building have been damaged.

In recent months, Ukraine has, among other things, targeted oil refineries in the Saratov region.
