Ed, who was kept as a pet, was found in the areas around the community of Christiana in central Tennessee, according to the sheriff's office in Rutherford county.

The zebra was caught with a net and was then lifted from the place with a helicopter to a waiting animal transport.

Ed arrived in the areas around Christiana on May 30 and was reported missing by his owner the day after.

On one occasion during his days on the run, the zebra was seen moving along a highway, which the police were forced to close. That time Ed fled into a forest area. He was also filmed when he moved through a residential area.
