Zara Owner Inditex Sees Profit Rise in First Half of Fiscal Year

The Spanish H&M competitor Inditex, with retail chains such as Zara and Massimo Dutti, reports a profit increase in line with market expectations for the first six months of the broken fiscal year.

Net sales increased by 1.6 percent in annual terms to 18.4 billion euro during the half-year. The operating result increased by 0.9 percent to 3.6 billion euro, in line with the average forecast among analysts according to Bloomberg.

The reported half-year was completed in July. For the period August 1 - September 8, Inditex simultaneously reports a sales increase of 9 percent with fixed exchange rates.
