It's been ten years since an 18-year-old Zara Larsson, wearing a pink bomber jacket and braces, performed at a rainy Way Out West for the first time. On Thursday, the sky was clear blue and the audience was dressed in the summery colours and glitter that the pop star has made her signature this past year.

On a stage resembling a scene from a Disney movie, Zara took to the stage to open the evening with the song Midnight Sun – from the hit album of the same name.

For the only time this summer, the Swedish audience got to see the acclaimed show, which has spread like wildfire on social media, after performances at everything from Lollapalooza in Chicago to Wednesday's gig at the Sziget festival in Budapest.

I've never been away as much as this year, but what's better than a European summer, or a Swedish summer, says Zara Larsson.

Before the show, Swedish Zara fans said they wanted to hear “Lush Life” and “Puss Puss” above all. Their wish was granted, and from the first song, the younger audience sang along to every song.

For once, she was able to speak to the audience in Swedish, where she highlighted her recent success. Not least her 13 years of work to really make it big as a world artist.

You know I've been doing this for a long time, Zara says to the Swedish audience.
